The third book in my Mackinac Island series is now available! You can read it as a stand alone book, or as the third story. It's simply richer if you know the back-story of Piper Penn starting in book one, but you don't need that information to enjoy the novel.
This is the story of Alice Merveille, a young woman who has a disfigured face because of an accident. It's 1981, and Alice has lived a limited existence, working in her Uncle Rabbit's music store in Cheboygan, MI. Because of her loneliness, she has taught herself to play every instrument in the store, and she's amazing. Always scheming, her uncle arranges for her to be a guitar and music tech for the famous rock artist -J.D. Grayling.
What happens next is filled with mystery, romance, friendship, faith, and yes quirky characters. And for those of you who have asked, yes! Sister Mary-Margaret is back, too!
Here's something very unique about this book! You'll see the lyrics to J.D.'s biggest hit called "Raincheck". While J.D. is fictional, you can hear the song on You Tube and download it on Apple Music if you'd like. This is all possible thanks to my singer/songwriter son out of Nashville! I think it will add to your reading enjoyment.
Being Alice (In a world lost in the looking glass) follows the sweet spot of taking place on Mackinac Island as does Being Ethel (In a world that loves Lucy) (1979) and Being Dorothy (In a world longing for home) (1980). If you've been to the island, you'll feel like you're taking another trip there. If you haven't been there, yet, you'll want to go even more!
All my books are available on Amazon, (please leave a review), and all the main bookstores online including bn.com , walmart.com, target.com, bookdepository, and for a big overview of availability, click here, more.
